What is new? Harvey, one of the most valuable legal-AI startups, has unveiled Harvey II, the second generation of its platform. At its core is “Memory”: the system learns individual lawyers’ word choice, drafting style, citation habits and work structure — and retains those preferences across Harvey, Microsoft Word, Outlook and AI agents.
How does Harvey describe it? “Memory is all about the ability to learn your preferences — your choice of words, your drafting style, the structure of the work,” says Chief Product Officer Anique Drumright. She adds: “Harvey gets better and better the more you use it. The agents get better. So, this is a game changer.”
What else is in it? Alongside Memory, Harvey II introduces “Spaces” — matter- and project-based workspaces with documents, tasks, permissions and work history. AI agents now start with existing context and can take on more substantial legal work without moving client data between Spaces.
How is the rollout staged? In three phases: Personal Memory is already in early access, followed by Shared Memory for joint matters and Organizational Memory for firm-wide standards with access boundaries. The platform was developed over six months with partner firms across the US, UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific — including AmLaw and Magic Circle firms and Fortune 500 companies.
Why does it matter? Harvey reported an annual revenue run rate of about $190 million in early 2026. With Memory, competition among legal-AI providers shifts from raw model quality to persistent personalisation — the longer a firm uses the system, the higher the switching costs.
