Market-intelligence firm Sensor Tower counted more than 83,000 US iOS downloads, enough to move Muse from No. 4 to No. 2 in the App Store. Android tells a different story: there the app sits at No. 338 in the Productivity category.
Set against Meta's own history, the debut is modest. Threads pulled 4.3 million US downloads on its first day; the Meta AI app managed 108,000. ChatGPT passed 500,000 installs in its first week.
Rivals arrived first or arrived funded. Google is pushing Gemini Spark and Anthropic has Claude Cowork, while the startup Instinct carries a $2.5 billion valuation on $350 million raised.
Meta's main privacy claim is architectural: agent and user data sit on a dedicated, secure virtual machine. The company has not published the detail behind that claim, and it has not disclosed pricing.
